Bill board champagines

I have been looking for different kinds of bill bored because I have chosen to create a bill bored for my Champaign. This bill bored shows a child who looks like she is the only survivor of here burnt down house. This bill bored uses a shocking image, to show how important it is to check the smoke alarms. Every think is dark and gloomy and the girl looks confused like she doesn’t know what’s going on, all she has is her dolly.

This bill bored is showing a drink bottle with a pair of hand cuffs on it. This campaign is alcohol beverage control, and it is warning alcohol shops no to sell to underage kids and that they can go prison for this. This campaign doesn’t really use shock tack ticks it used images that make you think.

Finishing off

Today I was finishing off my brief because i now what im going to do, I also started my questionnaire, so I can find out what people know about bulimia.

Time to stop and think

For my campaign I have chosen to direct it on bulimia. I would like to create a bill bored, leaflet and flyer. I am now going to research what the different sizes are, for each of them.

Bill bored=32 sheets
Leaflet=A4 folded in 3
Flyer= vertical 8.5x11

I have decided to change my mind though. I don’t want to do a leaflet or flyer anymore. So I will look for alternatives that I could use instead were my champagne would be more efficient.

My final idea is to create a bill board witch will be 32 sheets, a bus stop poster witch will be 6 sheets and a post card witch will be 4x6.

Advert on Bulimia (textual analysis)

Today I was looking at some web sites to try and find out what age group I should aim my campaign at. I found out from a website (http://www.homehealth-uk.com/medical/bulimia.htm) that “Bulimia is more common in women over the age of 20”. I also found out vital information like what can trigger Bulimia off these things could be stresses in life, such as family problems, relationship break-ups or sexual abuse. By finding out this information I can create effective posters for the campaign.

I later looked at different adverts for eating disorders, bulimia being one of them. Most of the adverts show the dark side of having an eating disorder. One video from you tube (web link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0OT8b_mfVM&NR=1)

This advert demonstrates the whole process of being anorexic and being bulimic. First it shows a wide shot of a little girl cutting out pictures of skinny famous people and models. By starting off the video like this the campaigner is showing viewers that young people aspire to being like this from the age of 5-6. The mise-en-scene is shown in a stereotypical environment. The girl is shown in her bed room and she is cutting out pictures. You can see that the girl is not very happy she looks isolated and alone. One cause of bulimia is child abuse this could be related to this advert because the girl doesn’t look happy, she is also all alone. The lighting looks like natural lighting and the colour shown in this still is focused on the girl.

The second stills shows an older girl, then the girl in the first still. This girl is in her mid-teens. This still shows the teenager walking away from having dinner, she is starving herself to conform to the skinny Celebes. The mise-en-scene shows a perfect nuclear family who are sitting down to have dinner, but the teen is heading straight for the stairs. The setting is in a homely environment in the dining room. The light is mainly showing the happy family and it darkens towards the girl. This emphasises the teens troubled, also that she is alone and feels isolated.

This third still actually shows a girl throwing up. I think this is used in the advert to shock viewers because this is a real feature of a bulimic person. You could all it an archetype because this is exactly what bulimics do. This still is an XCU of the teenager, you see pert of her mouth and you can see that she is in the process of vomiting. The lighting is blue/black and get lighter towards the bottom. This draws focus toward the girl’s actions (throwing up).the darkness could also be a sign of darkness and loneliness. There is also shadow above her lip and around her bottom lip, this also emphasises her actions.

Famous people who suffered from an eating disorder and are now helping others

http://www.edreferral.com/Celebrities_who_died_or_have_Eating_Disorders.htm

This is a very influential woman in today’s society Paula Abdul. She is a famous judge for a popular television show, American idol. When she was about 17 she started to slowly develop, but it wasn’t full blown bulimia unstill she started high school. She is now a spokesperson for an eating disorder association. She wants young women to seek help and get out of the situations that can lead them to becoming bulimic and such.

I will now be looking for other celebrities who are trying to help not hinder young people to being normal, not having an eating disorders because young people follow celebrities and do what they do.

Oprah Winfrey another influential person to people of all ages and ethnicities. She once had an eating disorder knows what its like to have one.she also ran shows that discuss these issues on her program. she also has this in her new book that was published in Jan 07.

Why people want to be skinny

Today I was researching different advertising campaigns. These are two pictures. These pictures show how people with bulimia try to make them self’s skinny like the models. The ad-campaign on the top shows a nude lady posing like a model. Also the background and lettering is similar to a popular avert. This is also how it would look. The picture on the bottom there is a Gucci advert the model is also skinny. The only difference between them is that one looks sexy and seductive and the other looks weak and frail.
the age group who try to conform to looking and being skinny don’t realise what it bulimia does to there skin, teeth and insides. After a while there body will start to eat away there body fat and muscle and they wouldn’t look like the model but like the top picture.
By the way the anti anorexia advert is set out and presented, it shows allot and has grate meaning. I don’t think I would do an advert like this but I will take some ideas form it. For example the way the text is set out.
